Responsibilities

How Will You Contribute to the Company?

Cradlepoint's AI/ML Team is looking for an exceptional engineer with experience in creating highly scalable microservices. Qualified candidates are experienced in building enterprise services and working with a variety of data systems. They possess not only an understanding of how to build high performing services but have a deep understanding of how the underlying systems are designed and implemented. Successful candidates have a high bias for action and are able to build complex solutions and systems with little to no guidance. They sweat the details and have a strong intuitive sense for data quality. In this role, you will partner with Cradlepoint DEs and PEs, Data scientists, Machine learning engineers and DBAs. Together we will create the customer facing components of Cradlepoints AI/ML team.

 

What Will You Do?

  • Create, Update, Test and Deploy customer facing microservices for R&D 
  • Follow internal standards regarding scalability, maintainability, reliability, observability
  • Provide clear and detailed documentation
  • Be comfortable creating code in a timely manner 
  • Create, Consume internal APIs
  • Understands variety of transient and non-transient data stores and their application
  • Work well with team and cross functionally
  • Be available to assist or debug production issues as they occur

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must have hands-on experience with:

  • Creating customer facing, data driven applications and building production services in a distributed computing environment
  • Ability to present and communicate complex technical concepts clearly
  • Creating highly scalable micro-services
  • Web based application development
  • Desired language: Python /Django
  • Creating and consuming APIs (REST)

Additional skills/experience:

  • Multiple types of storage technology, such as RDBMS, NoSQL databases and caching frameworks
  • Cassandra, Postgres, Redis, DynamoDB, Redshift
  • Design and implementation of REST APIs, microservices, and messaging service frameworks - Kafka
  • Kubernetes, Terraform, Teragrunt
  • At least one public cloud platform like Amazon Web Services (AWS), including PAAS and IAAS offerings, such as Dynamo DB, S3, EC2, SQS, SNS, Firehose, and Kinesis
  • Understands of concepts such as CI/CD, regression testing, load testing, and capacity planning
  • Rules Engines
  • BS in Computer Science or related field with 10 years of relevant work experience or MS in Computer Science or related field with 8 years of relevant work experience
