Responsibilities

How Will You Contribute to the Company?

Cradlepoint is the industry leader in providing Cellular WAN solutions for IoT, Mobile, and Enterprise customers that span LTE and 5G technologies.  Our NetCloud Operating System (NCOS) is a customized Linux distribution that powers all Cradlepoint endpoints and provides fleet management through our cloud-based SaaS solution NetCloud Manager (NCM).  Cradlepoint R&D is looking for an energetic leader with experience in firmware feature development to run our NCOS Features group.  You will interact and work closely with top development and product management talent that is both fun and challenging, with an opportunity to differentiate our endpoints and add real customer value.  You will lead several teams of developers located both in the US and India. 

 

What Will You Do?

  • Manage a group of developers to deliver NCOS firmware features from investigation to GA
  • Deliver customer value and differentiating results with a strong focus on execution, quality, and speed 
  • Evangelize the product vision internally and externally. Be able to represent the company, product, and team at all levels 
  • Work closely with the product management, hardware development, and endpoint NCOS teams' to develop and deliver on roadmaps 
  • Recognize and process product gaps early and be able to drive changes to achieve better outcomes 
  • Be a champion of ideas and initiatives to increase Cradlepoint customer value
  • Be a strong mentor and coach to the team 
  • Foster innovation in the organization 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent qualifications
  • Five (5+) years of embedded Linux FW feature development experience
  • Five (5+) years of engineering people management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to ship high-quality FW features
  • Excellent C/C++/Python programming experience
  • Strong FW debugging and analytical skills
  • Experience partnering with product, contributing to product strategy, and instilling a customer-focused mindset in the organization
  • Ability to work with Engineering teams to continuously refine and improve firmware development and delivery processes
  • The technical capacity to dive into the different parts of the development stack
  • Ability to work with both offshore and onshore teams as needed to achieve our goals
  • Effective and engaging communication, including with the company's top management
  • Proven ability to inspire team belief and performance, create and grow momentum, mentor and grow technical talent
